The Wreck Today: Scattered remains of a schooner have been located on a rock bottom one quarter mile out, east of the Avon Lake power plant. A sixteen foot high rudder near shore disappeared over the winter of 1998/1999. These are believed to be vestiges of the Colonel Cook.
