Welcome to the the Lake Erie Shipwreck Homepage. The Authors have been finding and investigating Lake Erie Shipwrecks for three decades and have documented their work (over 250 shipwrecks) in the three books offered on this site. Much of the information, especially GPS locations and wreck site descriptions found on other websites and books has been taken from our three books, sometimes with credit but all too often without credit.
We could not have developed the information in our books without the work of many of the shipwreck research pioneers who preceded us and we honor their accomplishments.
New wrecks are being found every season and, through this site, we hope to be able to keep you informed of those finds. Be sure to check out the Shipwrecks link above for new shipwrecks on a regular basis.

Our goal is to share the rich maritime history in the depths of Lake Erie and encourage recreational diving. As a result, we usually publish the locations of the shipwrecks we find. The only exceptions to this are when the ship has an artifact on it that needs to be documented before providing public access, and when the person who told us of the wreck wants it kept secret.
